Christmas Pictures

During Thanksgiving, my brother-in-law Jerry took some pictures of all the grandkids. We started a little late because my two were sleeping and we wanted to see Greg off to work. Anyway, they all did great considering the mosquitoes were awful. In several pictures, Caden had one on his little face. They turned out great considering mine are still babies and don't really care or understand to stay still and look at the camera.

Santa!

We spent a crowed hour at Toys r Us tonight. We decided to go and check out the toys with the boys. Note to self: Caleb liked everything. We bought both of them some things, because they probably won't remember they have seen it before. After that, we went to the mall to take a picture with Santa. I put on their plaid shirts as we waiting in line because I didn't want Caden to spit up on his. Well, of course he did.. a lot. His shirt was soaked by the time we got up there. Greg took Caleb up front to let him see Santa. He waved at him, so we figured things would go well. At first, he didn't want to sit on his lap. I bribed him with a mint thinking they were about to take the picture. WRONG! They were having issues printing other pictures, so we had to wait. Finally they were ready. Caden was sleepy and Caleb has a mint in his mouth, but hey...at least they weren't screaming.

Rubber Ducky..You're the one....Doggy???

I was giving the boys a bath the other day and Caleb decided to add a playmate at the end. After bathing both boys, I usually get Caden out and dress him before I get Caleb out of the tub. Caleb continued to play while Caden was getting dressed. I went in to get Caleb out and noticed Maggie in the tub with him. Caleb can't get out or in our tub on his own. Maggie must have been by the tub and he reached over and put her in. She was actually enjoying it. He just looked at Greg and me and smiled.
We are in for trouble!!!!

Sniff, Sniff

Well, after starting out the year with a bang, I got some devastating news on Tuesday. The 4th grade team was called in a meeting. At that time, we were told that due to our numbers, we would be losing a 4th grade teacher. At that time, we were asked if anyone wanted to volunteer. Of course, no one did. It then fell to the person who last signed their contract. That just happened to be me. I was transferred to Harlem. I am now teaching 3rd grade. It was extremely difficult for me to leave. I loved 3 of my team members very much. I cried all day Wednesday as did my kids. I packed Thursday morning and the movers came that afternoon. I spent the day at Harlem setting up my new room. I deeply miss my friends, but know that at this time, God needed me at Harlem. My precious Alamo staff had flowers delivered to me today. Of course, it made me want to tear up again. I am truly blessed to have been able to work at Alamo. Hopefully one day I can go back.

My Sweet Caden

Caden, it is hard to imagine that you are almost 3.5 months old. The time has flown by so quickly. You are smiling at me all of the time. You laugh out loud when we talk to you and tickle you. You are a big, big boy. You have already outgrown your 0-3 months clothes and the 3-6 month clothes are beginning to get tight on you. You love your paci's and hold on to them tight. You love the "3 Little Piggies". You smile when Gaga sings "Jesus Loves Me." I am so blessed to have you and Caleb as my sons. I couldn't imagine my life without both of you.

Henry the Hummingbird

The kids and I were going to go to mama and daddy's tonight since Greg was at work, but I had issues getting the garage door to close. This has happened to me once before and I had to call Greg to come home and close it. Well, he was at work and couldn't leave just to help close the door. He told me I was going to have to pull the red thingie to get it to manually close. Before I had a change to do this, I heard something flying around in the garage. I thought it was a bat at first, but realized it was a hummingbird. I have decided that hummingbirds must be stupid because he couldn't figure out how to fly out of the garage. I tried to swat at him with a mop, but he wouldn't fly toward the door. I went ahead and closed the garage door. Hopefully we won't have a dead hummingbird tomorrow.
I really did try and save him.

Yard Worker for Hire

Caleb and I went outside this evening while Greg was mowing the grass. Caleb decided he wanted to help his daddy mow the yard. I tried several times to get Caleb to come inside, but he refused. He began crying because eh wanted to help his daddy. Greg was very patient and let him help. I finally got his his toy lawn mower and he finished helping mow the yard with his own mower.

Caleb was VERY upset when it was time to go inside. He screamed during his bath. I had to get the grass stains off his feet before putting him to bed.

Smile!

Caleb got into my purse the other day. Apparently he watches my close than I think because he knew exactly what to do with my lipstick.

Check-up Time!

Caden turned 2 months old on Sunday which meant it was time for him to get shots. The boys had an appointment on Monday. I also had remembered the doctor telling me that Caleb would also be getting shots. Mama went with me to take the boys to the doctor because Greg was working. I had already given both of them Tylenol before I left home, so they would be ready. Here is how things went.

Caleb was weighed first. Let's see...he repeatedly moved the bar on the scale and the nurse had problems weighing him. I finally had to give him my ponytail to play with and keep him occupied. He ran around the room. He used the ear thingy as a phone. He got 2 shots...he screamed... Caleb now weighs 21.10 lbs and is 33.25 inches tall.

Caden got 3 shots...he cried..but calmed down quickly. The doctor is watching his hips because he was a breached baby, they will sometimes have hip problems if they are scrunched up in the womb, which he was because he was soooo big. He could possible have an x-ray in September, but for now, she said things look fine with his hips. Caden weighed 11.3 lbs and is 23.25 inches tall. He is in the 50% for his weight and the 75% for his height. I took him back to the doctor on Friday for his rotavirus vaccine and he had gained 3 more ounces. He is such a big boy!

Both boys did great after their shots and were not fussy at all!

Livin' in gangsters paradise

Caleb must have been pretending he was a gangster today. His shorts were sagging most of the day. Really, he's not doing it on purpose, he just doesn't have anything to hold up his pants and shorts. Thank goodness for adjustable waist and belts.

Our Little Monet

I was in the dining room today and heard Caleb saying his favorite word, "Uh-Oh." Greg was in the kitchen getting his lunch ready for work. Caleb had found a crayon and had colored on the refrigerator. He pointed to his drawing and said, "Uh-Oh." The pictures have a glare, but you can kinda see his artwork when I turned off the flash. Good thing when I painted the walls, I bought paint that is easy to clean.

Survivor Comes to Baytown

My precious niece, Moriah, came over last week to spend the night with Alyssa. Alyssa and Moriah play well together and Alyssa enjoys having her come to our house. Alyssa had been asking me if we could go eat Chinese food. Greg was working a lot, so he said we could go without him. We decided to go while Moriah was here. Alyssa and Moriah (Moriah was the leader of this) decided to try a stuffed mussel and a crawfish. They licked the mussel, but decided it was too spicy. They then decided to try a crawfish. Yes, the head was still attached. They attempted to break it open with a knife and fork. I told them to rip the head off. Juice splattered everywhere and of course, they were grossed out. Moriah ate a bite of the crawfish. That girl will try anything!!!!
