Mama

Just wanted to give an update on mama. She went to MD Anderson today for a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Jenny was at the hospital today to be with her and daddy. I stayed home to take Caleb to the Dr. and mama did not think it was a good idea for me to be there all day in my "current condition." No matter how old we are, mama's still know what is good for us. It would have been a long day. The first part of her surgery went well. They removed a lymph node and were going to biopsy it to make sure the cancer has not spread. Because her cancer is so small, the Dr. did not think it had spread and the biopsy they do in the operating room would not pick it up. The second half of her surgery was the reconstructive surgery. Jenny called around 2:30 and she was in recovery. They should be able to see her around 6pm. I am hoping to get up there sometime this week, but since I live in Baytown, I will be a bigger help here than while she is at the hospital. Caleb would also need to stay away for a few days since he has been sick and is currently on breathing treatments and medicine to get him better. I had a weight lifted off my shoulders now that her surgery is over. This is one thing I wanted to make it through before the baby comes. Next is the TAKS test which is at the end of April.

Yum, Yum

I mentioned earlier about how I was craving ice cream and decided to try the Oreo Brownie Earthquake from Dairy Queen. The name alone does not do it justice, so I decided to post a picture. They are awesome!!!

Belly Pictures at 32 Weeks

I am getting bigger all of the time. I have out grown a lot of my maternity clothes. When I went to the doctor at 30 weeks, my stomach was measuring 33 cm. I asked what that meant and she told me the baby may be big or he may come earlier that we thought. The next week, I measured 34 cm. I may be measuring larger also due to my height. I go back at 33 weeks. At that time, she will do this test that will let her know if I will be going into labor within the next 2 weeks. If it is negative, I will have it done again at 35 weeks. If I haven't had the baby by 38 weeks, she will induce. I am glad there is a test to help determine if I will go into labor early. I had a healthy pregnancy with Caleb and it was very unexpected that he arrived at 35 weeks (at 6.9lbs!) I am praying that I can hold off until May to have the baby.

Easter Weekend

We went to my parent's house late Saturday to eat dinner. Caleb was sick this weekend with a bad cough and ended up with fever while at my parent's house. We dyed eggs and Caleb had a great time. He really liked playing in the dye. He tried a couple of times to pick the bowl up and drink the dye. Jenny and I hid empty plastic eggs outside. We decided to have the hunt last night because we knew rain was predicted on Sunday. We helped Caleb find the eggs and he picked them up and put them in his basket. Moriah and Micah were really good with him because they let him get the easy ones and would even through some of theirs down for him to get. I can't wait until next year and he really gets into hunting eggs.

Flat Tire

Last Friday I was craving ice cream while at work. Dairy Queen is about 2 minutes from the school so I decided to call and order lunch. As I walked out to my car, I noticed my tire was flat. It looked like a huge spear was in it. Greg said it was actually concrete. I have been accused of running over a curb due to my past history of hitting curbs, but this time I really didn't. Anyway, my dear friend Lydia allowed me to use her car so I could get my food from Dairy Queen. Once I got back to school, I sent Greg a text message for him to call me when he woke up since he had been working nights. He came to school and put on the spare tire and headed off to Discount Tire to replace the tire. The had to order me a new tire which I came in the next day. I am so thankful that Greg was able to come and help me out. I don't know how to change a flat tire and couldn't have done it even if I knew how to. It was enough for me to bend down to take a picture while holding my food. I also recommended the Oreo Brownie Earthquake from DQ. It tasted very good!

Easter Egg Yard Signs

Last year I bought some Easter Egg yard signs while in Winnie and had our names put on them. I went ahead and bought one for Caden this year, let's just hope he really is a boy. One day Caleb and I were playing in the yard and he walked up to his egg and hit it. I didn't think anything about it until Greg mentioned something to me a few days later. They had been running errands while I was at work and when Caleb got out of the truck, he walked up to his egg. Later that evening we went out to eat and asked Caleb to show us his egg. He did! I don't know if he was just lucky all three times, or if he recognizes his name. His name is in his room and on his new bog boy bed.

Mommy just thinks I nap...

It has been a while since I last posted a blog, so I plan on catching up today. I layed Caleb down for a morning nap and assumed he fell asleep. I had been cleaning the house and did not hear anything over the monitors. Well, I hear a knock at his bedroom door and opened it up and found a surprise. Caleb had decided not to take a nap and instead explore his room. He dumped out an entire box of Q-Tips and pulled the cotton off. He also pulled out several wipes from a box that was on a lower shelf of his changing table. He helped me clean up his mess.

The next morning he woke up and began playing again. He opened a bag with travel shampoo and things like that. He didn't open up the shampoo, but the containers were on the floor. When he saw me, he said, "Uh Oh."
