Belly Pictures

Here are a couple of belly pictures that were taken Monday night in Kemah. I was 28 weeks and 3 days pregnant in these pictures.

Big Boy Bed

Greg and I decided that instead of buying another crib for the baby, we would get Caleb a big boy bed. We told my dad that Caleb may need Granddaddy to make him a bed. He made Micah a baseball bed when he began using a big boy bed. Anyway we thought a cowboy bed would be great since that is how his room is decorated and I can still use the same bedding for Caden. I found the cutest quilt at Target that I wanted to get. We got everything set up late Tuesday night and hoped for the best. Caleb slept through the night in his new bed. He has also taken both of his naps today in it. It is the cutest bed and he is so proud of it.

Spring Break

Yesterday we took Caleb to the park for the first time. We originally planned to have a picnic, but it was cloudy yesterday morning and chilly, so we waited until the afternoon and made a stop at Dairy Queen. Jenny, Moriah, and Micah went with us. Caleb loves playing with Micah. I wished they lived closer so he could play with his big cousin more often (not that Katy is that far away). Caleb LOVED the slide. He laughed each time he went down. He also liked the swings. He tried to clap, but realized he needed to hold on.

Injuries

Greg has been out of town this week for fire school at A&M and it has just been Caleb and me at home. It has not been a great week. Mama's surgery was on Monday and Tuesday was the TAKS test. TAKS days are no fun at all because all I can do is stare at the kids and make sure they do not talk. Wednesday night I was cleaning the bathroom and did not notice Caleb grabbing my flat iron. Well, he turned it on and it burned him. I ran his fingers under cool water and he stopped crying as soon as I asked if he wanted to take a bath. This morning when he woke up, his poor little thumb has a huge blister. It doesn't seem to bother him at all, but it looks horrible. I feel so bad that this happened. I feel like a dead beat mommy who spends all day drinking out of a bottle and watching TV. I don't really do this, but it sure makes me feel bad.

Mama

Mama had her surgery on Monday. It was a very long day for all of us. My in-laws were gracious enough to let Caleb spend the night so I wouldn't have to worry about getting him ready that morning. She had to be at MD Anderson at 7:45am. She was originally told that the surgery would begin 1-1.5 hours after she arrived. Well, it was 12:30 when the surgery began. We were able to see her in recovery later that afternoon. She was eating ice chips when I went back. During that time she ate a package of cheese crackers and a diet coke. She never drinks an entire diet coke, but that day she did. She was discharged around 5pm. We were home about 6pm. She is tolerating the pain. The Dr. is hoping she got all of the cancer, but will have to check the margins. If the xray comes back positive, she will have to have a mastectomy in about a month. We are hoping everything was taken care of on Monday. Please keep her in your prayers.
